Walk the Talk: How I Built AIReady.sg

    ByLaurence Liew July 3, 2026July 4, 2026 Reading Time: 8 minutes

How I built AIReady.sg alone, after hours, with no grant — and the engineering decisions that made it affordable to run. A 25-industry by 6-role framework generated offline in Claude Code; 5,100 personalised lesson snippets pre-built and slotted into otherwise-static lessons, served from a database with no live model call; and a runtime report path that fetches a company’s own page and grounds itself on pre-generated research instead of paying for web search on every use. The recurring cost fell well over 90%.

Acquire Skills, Build Judgement: Why I’m Retiring My Avengers Slide

    ByLaurence Liew June 11, 2026June 13, 2026 Reading Time: 6 minutes

For the past two years, one slide has appeared in almost every keynote I have delivered. It shows the Three Stages of AI Empowerment: Audiences liked it. I liked it. It is clear, visual, and it carried the argument from individual augmentation to agentic orchestration in three beats. I am retiring it. Not because the…

Generative AI Won the Headlines. Classical AI Still Runs the World.

    ByLaurence Liew June 1, 2026June 1, 2026 Reading Time: 9 minutes

I recently went back through nearly every project our engineers have built since 2018 — 181 projects across 100E, AIAP, SIP, AIAP for Industry and LADP (excluding our internal projects and special customer projects) — and mapped each one by the AI technique it used. I wanted to see, with evidence rather than impression, how our…

What We Have Learned About Putting AI to Work — In Government, In Classrooms, and In People

    ByLaurence Liew April 30, 2026April 30, 2026 Reading Time: 7 minutes

This week, I was part of a panel in a UK government AI learning journey on AI, and separately I was also asked to comment by a publication on the same subject. I sat down to write the responses and realised something. The answers weren’t really about Singapore. They were about patterns we’ve seen across…

When One Human Leads Eight AI Agents in Parallel

    ByLaurence Liew April 28, 2026April 28, 2026 Reading Time: 3 minutes

A Snapshot from the frontline of the Future of Work Earlier this week, I captured a screenshot from a working session in TAAF, the agent framework I have been experimenting with. In a single run, the framework spawned eight specialised subagents in parallel — each with a distinct role, each running independently, each reporting back…

PMETs Have the Hardest Part Already. Fresh Grads Have the Harder Problem.

    ByLaurence Liew April 14, 2026April 14, 2026 Reading Time: 3 minutes

Three AI agents working in parallel. One is running a 72-hour autonomous validation loop across 9,750 lesson variants. Another is building out the aiready.sg website. A third is helping me improve TAAF, our agent framework, while I use it in production. I am not writing code line by line. I am directing, judging, correcting, and…

How We’re Future-Proofing AIAP: Staying Seven Years Ahead in the AI Talent Revolution

    ByLaurence Liew June 1, 2025June 1, 2025 Reading Time: 6 minutes

Seven years ago, when we launched the AI Apprenticeship Programme (AIAP), people questioned our approach. Real-world projects over academic theory? Skills over degrees? Training passionate self-learners instead of computer science graduates? Today, watching the global tech industry scramble to adapt to AI-augmented workflows, I can confidently say: we were not just ahead of the curve…

The Art of Finding the Right AI Use Cases for SMEs

    ByLaurence Liew February 25, 2025May 17, 2025 Reading Time: 6 minutes

When SMEs approach me about adopting AI, they typically ask: “What AI use cases can I use in my business?” While it seems like a straightforward question, finding the right AI application is not a one-size-fits-all exercise. It’s more art than science, requiring an understanding of both the business context and AI readiness. Beyond the…
