Terms of Use

Terms of Use

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This is the single, canonical terms-of-use document for the entire AI-First Nation (AIFN) ecosystem of websites and services. Every site listed in Section 1 links to this document instead of maintaining its own copy.

Let’s keep this clear and human. By using any of these websites, you agree to treat the community with respect, use the frameworks ethically, and understand that these resources are provided to help you learn and grow.

1. Agreement to these terms

By accessing or using any AIFN Ecosystem website (the “Sites”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use (“Terms”). If you disagree with any part, you do not have permission to use the Sites.

2. About the AIFN ecosystem

These Terms apply to all of the interconnected websites and services operated by Laurence Liew (the “Ecosystem”):

  • aifirstnation.org — the “AI-First Nation” book site, AIFN Insights newsletter & blog, and the LLX chatbot. Canonical home of these Terms.
  • airi.foundation — the open-standard home of the AIRI Framework.
  • aiready.sg — the learning platform (LMS), pAIRI/oAIRI assessments, courses, community, and support helpdesk.
  • airihub.io and any *.airihub.io subdomain — branded oAIRI organisational-readiness survey sites.
  • ai4sme.org – a site dedicated to SMEs to help them in their AI journey
  • hokkien.me – a fun site to learn about AI/ML
  • community.aifirstnation.org – the AIFN community site

Non-affiliation: The AIFN Ecosystem is a personal initiative by Laurence Liew. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, funded by, or a product of AI Singapore. All views, frameworks, and content are solely mine.

3. The AIRI Framework licence vs. platform content

This distinction matters and people get it wrong:

  • The AIRI Framework itself (the model, the five pillars, the scoring methodology, the framework guide) is an open standard published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) licence. You are free to use, adapt, and redistribute it with attribution to Laurence Liew and a link back to airi.foundation.
  • The platform content — the specific courses, lesson text, videos, images, interactive elements, assessments, instructional design, the “AI-First Nation” book, blog posts, and chatbot outputs on these Sites — is proprietary and remains the intellectual property of Laurence Liew unless a specific piece says otherwise.

4. Accounts (aiready.sg)

4.1 Registration

You must create a free account to access assessments, courses, and the community on aiready.sg. You agree to provide accurate information and keep your details up to date.

4.2 Account security

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials. Do not share your password. If you suspect unauthorised access, contact us immediately.

4.3 One account per person

Each person should maintain only one account. Duplicate accounts may be merged or removed at our discretion.

4.4 Account termination

You may request account deletion at any time by contacting us; we will delete your data in accordance with our Privacy & Data Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, particularly the Community Guidelines in Section 8.

5. Assessments (pAIRI and oAIRI)

5.1 Purpose

The pAIRI and oAIRI assessments are self-assessment tools designed to help individuals and organisations understand their current AI-readiness level and identify areas for development. They are informational and educational.

5.2 Not a certification

Assessment scores and maturity-level classifications (L0–L4) are not certifications, qualifications, or guarantees of competency. They should not be represented as such to employers, clients, or third parties. They are a starting point for learning, not an endpoint.

5.3 Scoring methodology

Scores are computed from your responses using the published AIRI Framework methodology, which is transparent and documented in the AIRI Framework Guide (free download at airi.foundation) under CC BY 4.0.

5.4 Accuracy

The accuracy of your results depends on the honesty and accuracy of your responses. We use behavioural anchors (concrete scenario descriptions) rather than subjective self-rating scales to improve accuracy, but ultimately your results reflect what you report.

5.5 Organisational surveys (airihub.io)

oAIRI surveys on airihub.io tenant sites are administered on behalf of the participating organisation. That organisation is the intended recipient of the aggregate result. Do not enter information you are not authorised to share about your organisation.

6. Courses and content

6.1 Licence to access

When you enrol in a course on aiready.sg, you are granted a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to access and view the course content for your own learning. The licence lasts as long as your account is active and in good standing.

6.2 What you may not do with platform content

You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, or redistribute course content beyond personal notes for your own use.
  • Screen-record, scrape, or bulk-download course materials.
  • Republish content on another platform, website, or publication.
  • Use content to create competing products or services.
  • Share your account credentials to give others access to gated content.

6.3 AI-generated content

Some content may be generated or enhanced using AI tools and reviewed before publication. We take responsibility for the accuracy and quality of all content on the platform regardless of how it was produced. If you spot an error or hallucinated content, please let us know and we will correct it.

6.4 Third-party content

Where we reference third-party research, frameworks, or publications, we provide attribution. Inclusion does not imply endorsement by those parties.

7. The LLX chatbot (aifirstnation.org)

By using the LLX chatbot you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Data collection: conversations are recorded and stored to improve responses, enhance the experience, and generate aggregate analytics.
  • AI limitations: responses are AI-generated and may be inaccurate. Do not share sensitive personal or financial information through the chatbot. We are not liable for decisions made based on chatbot responses.
  • Your content: you retain ownership of what you submit and grant us a licence to use, display, and process it to provide and improve the service.
  • Our output: chatbot responses remain our intellectual property. You may not commercially exploit or systematically redistribute them.
  • Prohibited uses: do not use the chatbot to probe for vulnerabilities, train other AI models, harvest responses systematically, generate harmful or illegal content, or attempt to manipulate the system.

8. Community guidelines

The Community (at community.aifirstnation.org) is a space for peer learning, discussion, and professional networking. By participating you agree to:

8.1 Be respectful

Treat all members with respect and professionalism. Disagreement is welcome; personal attacks, harassment, discrimination, and abusive language are not.

8.2 Stay on topic

Each space has a defined purpose. Keep contributions relevant and use the Off-Topic space for general conversation.

8.3 No spam or self-promotion

Do not promote your own products or services unless directly relevant and genuinely valuable. Repeated unsolicited promotion will result in removal.

8.4 No confidential or sensitive data

Do not share confidential business information, proprietary data, personal information about others, or anything you would not want visible to all members. Your assessment scores are private to your dashboard and should only be shared voluntarily.

8.5 Respect intellectual property

Do not share copyrighted material, proprietary course content from other platforms, or content that infringes the rights of others.

8.6 Moderation

We may remove posts, issue warnings, or suspend community access for violations. Serious or repeated violations may result in account termination.

9. Digital products includes (but not limited to)

  • The “AI-First Nation” book in digital PDF format. The PDF is licensed as a single-user licence. It is not for redistribution or resale. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works, or remove copyright or proprietary notices.
  • The “AIRI Framework” documents in PDF or markdown (md) format. The AIRI Framework is released under a Creative Commons BY 4.0 license.
  • Other resources that may be distributed from time to time.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Sites for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other accounts, systems, or data.
  • Interfere with the operation of the Sites, including introducing malware, overloading servers, or exploiting vulnerabilities.
  • Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Sites or their content.
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity.
  • Use assessment results, course materials, or chatbot output in misleading, fraudulent, or harmful ways.
  • Enter confidential company data, trade secrets, personal health information (PHI), or sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) into the chatbot or free-text fields. These are educational tools, not secure enterprise data vaults.

11. Personalised recommendations

Based on your assessment scores, profile information, and course progress, the platform may recommend specific courses, learning paths, or community spaces. These are generated algorithmically and are intended to be helpful, not prescriptive. You are free to follow a different path at any time.

12. Availability and changes

12.1 Availability

We aim to keep the Sites available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Downtime may occur for maintenance, updates, or reasons beyond our control.

12.2 Content updates

Course content, assessment questions, and framework materials may be updated over time to reflect advances in AI and improvements to the learning experience. We will notify you of significant changes that affect your learning path.

12.3 Feature changes

We may add, modify, or remove features at any time, with reasonable notice where possible.

13. Fees and payments

All core features — pAIRI and oAIRI assessments, the aiready.sg foundational courses, and the community — are free. Some features may be offered as paid services in the future (such as enterprise assessments or advanced courses). If we introduce paid features, pricing will be clearly communicated before you are asked to pay, and existing free features will remain free.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

The Sites and their content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. Everything — courses, assessments, frameworks, and the chatbot — is provided for educational and informational purposes. We make no guarantees about specific business outcomes, job promotions, or financial results.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Sites, including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the Sites shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which, for free accounts, is zero).
  • We are not responsible for decisions you make based on assessment results, course content, chatbot output, or community discussions. AI-readiness assessments are educational tools, not professional advice.

16. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Laurence Liew and any collaborators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your violation of these Terms, your use of the Sites, or your infringement of any third party’s rights.

17. Privacy

Your use of the Sites is also governed by our Privacy & Data Policy, which explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

18. Third-party links

The Sites contain links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for their content or practices and do not endorse them.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, including the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Sites is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.

20. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of the Sites after changes are posted constitutes acceptance. If you do not agree, you may delete your account.

21. Termination

We may terminate or suspend access immediately, without prior notice, for breach of these Terms, illegal activity, or at our sole discretion. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law) remain in effect.

22. Severability

If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

23. Entire agreement

These Terms, together with the Privacy & Data Policy and Cookie Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Laurence Liew regarding your use of the Sites.

24. Contact
