Cookie Policy

Last updated: 18 August 2026

This is the single, canonical cookie policy for the entire AI-First Nation (AIFN) ecosystem of websites and services. Every site listed below links to this document instead of maintaining its own copy. It should be read alongside our Privacy & Data Policy and Terms of Use.

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help a site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand — in aggregate — how the site is used. This policy covers cookies and similar technologies such as local storage.

2. Our approach (the short version)

We use cookies sparingly and deliberately. In plain terms:

  • We do not use advertising cookies. Ever.
  • We do not use Google Analytics. We run our own privacy-first analytics (Independent Analytics Pro), which stores data locally on our servers.
  • We do not use social-media tracking pixels (no Meta Pixel, no LinkedIn Insight, no X/Twitter pixel).
  • We do not follow you across other websites (except AIFN sites). Nothing in this Ecosystem builds an advertising profile of you.

If a previous version of a cookie policy on any of our sites mentioned Google Analytics or “marketing cookies from third-party advertising partners,” that was a leftover template and did not reflect what we actually do. This document is the accurate one.

3. The sites this covers

This policy applies to all AIFN Ecosystem sites:

  • aifirstnation.org — the “AI-First Nation” book site, AIFN Insights newsletter & blog, and the LLX chatbot. Canonical home of these Terms.
  • airi.foundation — the open-standard home of the AIRI Framework.
  • aiready.sg — the learning platform (LMS), pAIRI/oAIRI assessments, courses, community, and support helpdesk.
  • airihub.io and any *.airihub.io subdomain — branded oAIRI organisational-readiness survey sites.
  • ai4sme.org – a site dedicated to SMEs to help them in their AI journey
  • hokkien.me – a fun site to learn about AI/ML
  • community.aifirstnation.org – the AIFN community site

4. Types of cookies we use

TypePurposeSitesDuration
EssentialSecurity and bot protection via Rocket.net/Cloudflare; anti-spam verification via CleanTalk. The site cannot function without these.AllSession, or as required by the provider
FunctionalRemembering your name/email if you have previously filled out a form, so you do not have to retype it.AllUp to 30 days
SessionKeeping you logged in to your student dashboard, community profile, and support portal.aiready.sg (and airihub.io tenant portals where login applies)Until you log out or close your browser

EmailFluentCRM may set a cookie to identify you when you click a link in one of our emails, enabling features like Smart Links (auto-login).All (on click-through from email)Up to 30 days

You cannot opt out of Essential cookies without breaking core site functions (login, security, anti-spam). The other categories are either functional to a feature you are actively using, or can be blocked via your browser settings (Section 7).

5. Cookies set by our processors

Some cookies are placed by the third-party services we use to operate the Ecosystem. None of these are advertising services.

ProviderWhy it sets a cookieType
Cloudflare / Rocket.netBot protection, firewall, and performance (e.g., __cf_bm)Essential
CleanTalkAnti-spam check on forms and registrationEssential
FluentCRMIdentifies a contact when clicking through from an email (Smart Links)Email / Functional
WordPress / LifterLMSSession and authentication; course-progress storageEssential / Session / Progress

6. Local storage

The learning platform (aiready.sg) and the LLX chatbot may use the browser’s local storage to remember your place in a lesson, hold a draft of your assessment answers, or keep the chatbot interface state between page loads. Local storage stays on your device and is not sent to us until you submit or save.

7. Managing cookies

You are in control. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their privacy/security settings:

  • Block all cookies: the site will still work for reading public pages, but logging in, saving course progress, and form auto-fill will not work.
  • Block third-party cookies: generally fine for our sites — we rely very little on third-party cookies.
  • Delete cookies on exit: you will need to log in again each visit.
  • “Block remote images” in your email client: this prevents FluentCRM’s open-tracking pixel from firing on our emails.

We do not run a separate cookie-consence banner because we do not serve any non-essential, trackable cookies that require consent under the laws that apply to us (Singapore PDPA). The cookies we set are either essential or strictly functional to a feature you are actively using.

8. Do we use Google Analytics or advertising cookies?

No. To be explicit, because older policy text on some sites was ambiguous:

  • No Google Analytics (_ga, _gid, _gat).
  • No advertising or retargeting cookies (Google Ads, Meta, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, programmatic).
  • No social-media plugins that drop tracking cookies.

Our analytics come from Independent Analytics Pro, which records page views locally on our servers and does not set cross-site tracking cookies on your device.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date above indicates when it was last revised. Significant changes will be noted on the canonical page.

10. Contact
