Our engineers are already using AI to assist in coding and evaluation of assignments. We will integrate vibe coding and advanced AI-assisted development into our AIAP core curriculum and projects as the technology mature and as our engineers get more experience with it. We see emerging AI coding tools not as replacements for skill, but as force multipliers that free them to focus on architecture, strategy, and innovation.

Gartner predicts that 75% of developers will use AI-powered coding tools by 2028. Our apprentices will not just use these tools – they will become the experts who orchestrate them.

Expanding AIAP -> AIAP For Industry

AIAP have always allowed apprentices to pursue their passions and we organise the projects around their core skills and passion. Apprentices who prefer model building build models and apprentices who prefer AI/ML ops will take on those role during the project phase. We will be offering more options for apprentices in the next iteration of AIAP and with the new AIAP For Industry launched at ATxEnterprise 2025, future apprentices can expect a more varied learning tracks leading to various AI/ML roles.

Importantly, each of these tracks maintains our core DNA: practical skills forged through real-world projects.

While the industry races to build faster AI systems, we are addressing an equally critical challenge: developing professionals who can audit, certify, and govern these systems responsibly. Our recent partnership with Socotec and integration of ISO 42001 standards into AIAP tackles the exploding demand for AI audit and certification expertise – a gap many overlook as AI systems become prevalent in critical applications.

This partnership is strategically designed for our PMET apprentices who bring years of domain expertise now enhanced with deep AI skills. Through hands-on exposure to real audit processes and certification requirements, we are creating a new category of AI professional – one who navigates both technical development and regulatory compliance with equal expertise. As regulatory scrutiny intensifies, the market will demand engineers who understand governance constraints from day one. Once again, AIAP is not just keeping pace with industry evolution – we are leading it.
